Welcome to AvL's Realm

The following programs are written for Unix-like systems, but can also
be used for Windoze (Tcl/Tk is mostly platform-independent; Pacman comes
with a compiled .exe, the Gallery is only pics and the Tools&Utilities
are written in ANSI-C.
However, much of the stuff here is only of limited use for average Windozers (without a Compiler)).
- Tcl/Tk progs:
games, utilities & others. These progs depend on
Tcl/Tk, which is free and can be found at
not much there yet, but more to come. These progs depend on
- PacMan: have your desktop
eaten up ...
not much there yet, but more to come. These are pure ANSI-C programs with
no special library-dependencies.
- Multicol: Produces a multicolumn textfile. Logical page-size and number of
logical pages (==columns) per row can be specified, as well as
folding/truncating long lines and sensible dealing with overstrike
characters(as found in preformatted man-pages) and more.
- SagZeit: prints out the current
(or specified) time in written viennese(austrian) jargon.
E.g.: at 15:47 it writes: "Es is zwa noch dreiviadl viere am nochmittog".
- My own theme for IceWM: it's not "kewl", it's
not overloaded, it's just fine if you primarily want to work.
There is a small excerpt of a
screenshot available, showing only the titlebar of a normal window.
- the Gallery contains some images:
- Maple: visualized surfaces,
generated with Maple(tm) and manipulated with "xv".
- Sproingy reached the ground!
The image is a snapshot of the sproingies-screensaver and
manipulated with "The Gimp".
